- 본 발명은 폴리시포니아 자포니카(Polysiphonia japonica) 추출물을 유효성분으로 포함하는 당뇨병 예방 또는 치료용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 상기 조성물은 인슐린을 생성하는 베타세포(β-cell)를 직접적으로 회복시키거나, BMP 신호 전달을 저해하여 인슐린을 생성하는 베타세포를 재생하고, 그 기능을 회복시키며 부작용을 초래하지 않으므로, 당뇨병 예방 또는 치료에 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
