- 대상체의 타액 내에서 정상상태와 이상상태의 잇몸 간 발현 차이를 보이는 단백질을 마커로 이용하여 잇몸상태를 진단하는 방법이 제시된다. 이에 따르면, 비침습적인 방법을 이용하여 환자의 수고를 줄이고, 환자 스스로 잇몸 질환의 유무를 확인한 후 치료를 받아야 하는 시기를 조기에 결정할 수 있어 치료 시간과 비용을 절감할 수 있다.
