Abstract
This is a descriptive correlation research aiming to determine factors affecting job satisfaction of biomedical engineers working in general hospital. The research was contained with biomedical engineers belonged to seventy-nine general hospital of twenty-six regions based on the members registered in Korea Medical Engineering Association(KMEA), the data collected with the questionnaires of job satisfaction by Mun(2002)(Cronbach's α= 0.884), went through computational precessing for analysis with SPSS for Windows(ver. 15.0). The mean of job satisfaction was 3.50, the highest, 3.98 in the duty inner one among three fields of job satisfaction and 4.41 in the responsibility of duty among the questions. There was statistically significant difference in job satisfaction according to age, health, position, career(biomedical engineer), career(present post), difficulty, change of post and support of superiors and colleagues. By multiple regression analysis, the factors affecting job satisfaction of biomedical engineers were classified as grant, health, and support of superiors and colleagues (R2=0.512). On the basis of the results, in order to improve the job satisfaction of biomedical engineers, it is required to study about effective motivation-plans considered organizational characters and environmental condition of the hospital.
